We were honored to convene business and government leaders committed to fostering a strong rule of law environment across the Western Hemisphere for a conversation on transparency and anti-corruption during last week’s #AmericasPartnership private sector forum, hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. H.E. Roberto Alvarez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the #DominicanRepublic, discussed steps the Partnership nations have undertaken to enhance anti-corruption principles and norms at all levels of government, as well as provided a look ahead at the 2025 Summit of the Americas as a platform to continue to advance opportunities to bolster the rule of law. Meanwhile, our other esteemed panelists Sarah Thorn of Walmart and Karim Antonio Lesina of Millicom (Tigo) discussed public-private partnership to support transparency in trade facilitation. They also underscored the importance of digitalizing government services, like permitting and licensing, customs, and public procurement, to strengthen public and private sector integrity. The Coalition for the Rule of Law in Global Markets looks forward to supporting ongoing dialogue between the business community and the Americas Partnership to drive forward solutions that combat corruption and foster an investment climate that promotes shared prosperity in the region.

The Northern Triangle is aiming to become a hub for tech investments, and the recent summit we held in El Salvador, highlighted some amazing opportunities for the private sector. With a focus on areas like 5G telecommunications, renewable energy, and specialized labor for 'nearshoring', this event brought together industry leaders from the US, EU, and Central America to share their perspectives and expertise on technology and infrastrucure.
