Day of the Seafarer: Safety Tips at Sea Today is the International Maritime Organisation’s Day of the Seafarer, a day where we honour the dedication and hard work of seafarers around the globe. This year, the focus is on safety tips at sea. Cosmin Cojocaru, Electro Technical Officer on CLdN’s vessel MV Delphine, shares his insights about safety on board a CLdN ship.  “My job revolves around safety. Our daily routines are built on rigorous safety protocols and continuous training. We have regular emergency drills such as fire, abandon ship drill and many other drills and trainings to ensure that every crew member is briefed and knows exactly what to do in case of an emergency. Good communication is a fundamental part of our safety culture, ensuring that everyone knows their responsibilities and actions. Safety is not just a routine; it’s a responsibility we all share. Our commitment to safety ensures not only our well-being but also the efficient operation of the Delphine.” Here are Cosmin’s top five safety tips for seafarers:  ⚓ Wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Always wear the appropriate PPE for your tasks such as helmets, safety shoes and gloves. This will protect you from potential hazards. ⚓ Be aware of your surroundings: Stay vigilant and mindful of your surroundings to avoid accidents.  ⚓ Analyse situations: Assess the risks and plan your actions carefully before undertaking any task.  ⚓ Communicate well: Clear and concise communication with your team is essential to ensure everyone is on the same page.  ⚓ Avoid distractions: Never use items like phones that can distract you from your duties and compromise safety. #InternationalDayoftheSeafarer #SafetyTipsAtSea #internationalmaritimeorganization #cldn

In the video you can see the impressive scale of the 8,000 lane metre vessel and the way in which the keel and hull are assembled in blocks. The two vessels are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2025. #cldn #keellaying
