CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The risk for severe storms returns to the area ahead of a cold front this weekend.

Just two weeks ago the high in Cincinnati was 45 degrees and Thursday, under mostly sunny skies, temperatures will be in the 80s -- the fifth straight day to hit the mark,

Enjoy, because that is the last of it. Clouds increase later in the night with scattered showers and thunderstorms making a comeback by late evening.

The window for a chance of severe storms spans from 10 p.m. through 2 a.m. at a level 1 out of 5 or "marginal" risk. But that risk may go higher, especially along and west of I-75.

Damaging winds, heavy rain & hail are the threats. But a brief, spin-up tornado also can’t be ruled out mainly west.

Storms will begin to exit Friday morning with sunnier skies and cooler temperatures returning by the weekend. Expect highs in the lower 60s Saturday and by Sunday, it probably won't get out of the upper 50s.

Lows by Sunday and Monday morning dip into the 30s.
