Abstract
Ultrasound examination is applied widely in point-of-care management of the acutely ill patient. Common pulmonary conditions in acute care, namely pulmonary oedema, pleural effusion, pneumothorax, lung collapsed and pulmonary consolidation can be diagnosed with lung ultrasound. Relative composition of air and fluid in the lung produces recognizable ultrasound features enabling fast diagnosis and prompt management of patients.
