Already know what you’re looking for? Simple Search is the easiest way to navigate the e-Library.
  • Type your terms into the Search box.
  • Toggle between Full-text search and Exact search options to the right of the box.
  • Control the language of your results using the Language dropdown directly below the Search box.
  • You may also search by WMO-No. or Session by using the respective fields below the Search box.

    Tips:
    - Filters on the right can be used to refine your search (e.g. by date range, specific year, serial title, number in series or bulletin issue, constituent body, authors, programmes, topics, country/region, etc.)
    - Boolean operators (AND, OR and NOT) can be used to enhance your searches.

Access the Advanced Search from the top menu (Search > Advanced) or by clicking the + icon to the right of the Search box:

  • Execute a more refined search by selecting options from the dropdown menu on the left, and combining it with Boolean operators “AND/OR/NOT” on the right.
  • Add multiple search fields by clicking the “Add search field” icon at the upper right of the search box.

Tips:
You can use the following wildcards and operators to refine your search:
*      any number of any characters (e.g. guid* = guide, guidance, guidelines, etc.);
       if you type only * in the field, you will find all entries where this field is not empty
      (e.g. when used in WMO-No. field, you will find all records with a WMO-No.)
(-*)  use this operator to find all empty values of a field 

Provides easy access points to some of WMO’s most popular periodicals, series, reports, and technical documents.

Populates a results list of publications produced by the International Meteorological Organization (IMO) from 1878 to 1950, when it was succeeded by WMO.

The Browse feature allows for hierarchical exploration of WMO’s Collections, Serials and periodicals, Programmes and Bodies, Regions and Countries, and Topics.

If a publication’s cover is displayed in the results list, it is available for free download.
  • From the publication’s record, click on the link in the Download box below the cover.
  • The file will be automatically downloaded.

    Tips:
    To access old versions of a publication, click on the links in Download Archives box, if available (please note that you need to be logged in to access this feature). 

Building personal collections from e-Library content is easy!

  1. First, make sure you have an account and that you are logged in.
  2. Make a search.
  3. From the search results list, click the star in the upper left hand corner of the desired publication:

  4. This will take you to “Add to My Collections.” Click “Create collection” (if you do not have any collections yet)
  5. Name your collection.
  6. Then click “Add to My Collections.”
  7. Your collections will appear in the “My collection” field in the Filters sidebar located on the right side of the search results.

You can add your favourite search requests to "My Searches/Notifications" and subscribe to notifications for new publications that match your added searches. 
  1. Make a search and click on the button Icon in the shape of a heart and envelope to access My Searches / Notifications (you need to be logged in to access this feature).
  2. Click the "Add" button in "My Searches/Notifications" window that will pop up.
  3. Enter a title for your search request and indicate whether you would like to be notified of new publications added matching this request.
  4. Click "Add" and close "My Searches/Notifications" form.

Tip: To receive notifications of any new publications added to any collection in any language, select "Search" > "Simple" from the top menu, and then click on Icon in the shape of a heart and envelope to access My Searches / Notifications. Follows steps 2 to 4 above.

The e-Library has an in-built viewer which allows you to consult a publication without downloading it. The Viewer can be accessed on the publication record by clicking on the cover of the publication ("View" icon). 

Change View: Changes your viewer preferences (Thumbnails, Facing pages, Picture, Book)


 View Information: Provides metadata related to the publication.

Permalink:
  • To the publication: Points to the publication's homepage.
  • To the current page: Points to the specific page you're viewing.
Download files: Download the full file or the current page in PDF format.
Comparator: Compares two pages side by side.
Show bookmarks: Acts as a table of contents. Click on section titles to navigate.
Search: Search within the document and highlight occurrences.
Show text: Highlights text elements for easy copying.
Adjust picture: Use editing tools to rotate pages or adjust contrast.
Show/Hide information boxes:Toggles the visibility of the information box to zoom in a particular place of the page.
Optimized zoom: Adjusts zoom level to fit the page.

NB: Icons listed are only available when relevant to a publication.
To exit the Viewer and go back to the publication record, click on the cross at the upper-right part of the screen.
