We are honored to have received 1st place in the creative innovation category of the Lina Foundation's 7th [Lina 50+ Awards] competition. The foundation is under Lina Korea, a prominent insurance company in Korea, and engages in various social contribution activities for middle-aged to older generations by discovering and awarding companies that are involved in improving the quality of life for the 50+ generation. The award ceremony will be held tomorrow, May 31st, along with 3 other amazing companies that are also being awarded for their remarkable contributions to society. The 1st Jeju-Mongolia Joint Symposium for Neurology & Neurosurgery was held at Jeju National University this past weekend. Our CEO, Tackeun Kim, spoke on the the need for digital innovation in creating an effective screening system for the early detection of cerebral aneurysms. We are grateful to have been part of a significant milestone and for the deep interest from the Mongolian delegation. We look forward to discussing the next steps in our future collaboration and how we can be a part of the digital innovation in Mongolia.

We participated in this year's #AANS2024 Annual Scientific Meeting (May 3rd-6th), held in Chicago, and had the privilege of meeting Christine Buckley and Christopher S. Ogilvy from the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. We look forward to see how the collaboration with our technological development from Korea will help advance the movement to prevent and increase selective screening for brain aneurysms for the USA. #brainaneurysm

CEO Interview with Biotimes [TALOS Corp., Predicting and Preventing Brain Aneurysms with Medical AI Software, ANRISK™] “The NHIS has data on everyone who has received a national health checkup, the results, which institution they visited, what they were diagnosed with, and what prescription medicine they received at the pharmacy. TALOS used this data to check its effectiveness and through the collaboration of a university hospital, ANRISK™ was proven to be sufficiently effective in predicting the risk of developing a brain aneurysm after 2 rounds of verification tests. Most medical AI models either imitated human diagnostic and judgment abilities or strategized to replace what doctors could do but no doctor thought they could predict the risk of a brain aneurysm. As a result of approaching medical software in a different angle, I believe that ANRISK™ can greatly decrease the death rate or the number of patients suffering from severe consequences of a brain aneurysm rupture, especially if our service is implemented in many more hospitals and included in the national health checkup as well.” After receiving the Japanese PMDA approval, TALOS Corp. is looking forward to further expand in international medical institutions. Our goal is to protect the public's health with our algorithms and services by shifting the focus from treating diseases to preventing diseases in advance before it is too late. TALOS Corp. is currently at MARU360, the foundation’s incubation center for startups and our CEO had the pleasure of being interviewed by the team at Asan Nanum Foundation about how the company was founded. Why a Neurosurgeon with 15 Years of Experience Decided Quit and Start a Company] “After I was stationed at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, I performed surgeries on patients with brain aneurysms, Moyamoya disease, and brain infarction. I always felt helpless when I saw these patients. No matter how advanced the medical technologies were, there were too many lives that couldn’t be saved. But, I had the tools to create something. I actually used to code since I was very young. I was inseparable from my computer since I was in elementary school but I eventually ended up going to medical school. At some point, everything came together and I could see very clearly what I could do. In 2016, the chess match between Lee Se-dol and AlphaGo was the catalyst in the popularization of AI. To be honest, I felt like my world had come. I was already studying different AI machine learning models at that time. On top of that, I was able to access the national medical big data from the NHIS. It felt like I was holding two swords in both hands.
