In May, we celebrated a major milestone at HD Hyundai Electric! We successfully installed a 1100MVA Generator Step-up (GSU) transformer at the Dresden Clean Energy Center for Constellation . This isn't just any transformer. It's the largest one ever exported to the United States by a Korean company! Weighing in at around 400 tons, 10 meters long, and over 6 meters high, it's truly a giant. The U.S. nuclear power transformer market is typically dominated by well-established companies. So, this achievement is a huge deal for us, showcasing HD Hyundai Electric's exceptional capabilities in fulfilling and delivering such significant orders. We're excited to announce that HD Hyundai Electric has just completed and started operating a massive 336MW Energy Storage System (ESS) at the Sinnamwon Substation. This project, the largest ESS for grid stabilization for Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) , took a year and four months to build and get verified by government agencies. Located in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do, Korea, this ESS is a game-changer for grid stabilization. It's designed to ease power generation constraints and boost the reliability of our power system, especially as we prepare for more renewable energy. HD Hyundai Electric provided key equipment like the Power Conversion System (PCS), Local Power Management System (LPMS), and Battery Management System (BMS). We also handled the design, construction, and procurement for the project. What makes this project extra special is that, despite its large 336MW capacity, we finished it in a year and four months after getting the order from KEPCO. This was made possible through teamwork with domestic partners like HD Hyundai Plaspo and LG Energy Solution. This project showcases HD Hyundai Electric's expertise in ESS technology and project management. On July 16th, HD Hyundai Power Transformers USA, Inc. held a donation ceremony at the Montgomery Fire Department, where we presented a donation to support their essential work. This donation ceremony was a meaningful opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation for the brave firefighters who dedicate themselves to keeping our local community safe. During the donation ceremony, we had a brief conversation with Montgomery Fire Chief Miford Jordan and several other firefighters, which was truly inspiring. ⚡ Exciting News from HDE ⚡ On July 4th, the 9th Export Field Support Group meeting was held at HD Hyundai Electric's Global R&D Center (GRC) headquarters, under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea. This meeting, visits key companies in each industry to discuss issues related to exports and investments. Representatives from Korea's electric power equipment industry gathered at HD Hyundai Electric's GRC headquarters to discuss industry trends and exports in the electric power equipment sector. This event was particularly meaningful as it marked the first visit by the Export Support Task Force to the energy sector. Before the meeting, Minister Dukgeun Ahn toured the HD Hyundai CES mockup exhibition space and the DC distribution promotion room, which showcases the world's first commercialized DC distribution system for commercial buildings, located within the GRC. With the global spread of AI and the trend toward carbon neutrality, the grid (power network) market is steadily growing. Grid Games is an event organized by Hydro One aimed at fostering harmony among various stakeholders surrounding the company. Let's take a look at the photos from the HD Hyundai Electric promotional booth at Grid Games 2024, where we created enjoyable memories for Canadian power industry professionals and local residents! At this year's Grid Games event, HD Hyundai Electric participated as a partner, providing sponsorship funds. We also operated a promotional booth where participants could experience traditional Korean games. Activities such as Tuho (arrow throwing) and Jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking), which are not commonly seen, captivated the participants' interest and received enthusiastic responses.
