🌟 Empowering Women in Tech: Introducing TechDada! 🌟 At Learning Lions, we're thrilled to bring to your attention TechDada, a female empowerment initiative dedicated to fostering confidence among girls and women in technology, design, and business. "Dada," meaning "sister" in Kiswahili, represents our commitment to gender equality and empowerment. Through TechDada, we aim to create a supportive community where participants can acquire skills, grow, and become professional freelancers and entrepreneurs. We strive to ensure gender equality both on and off campus. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting the Mogila Girl High School, at our Learning Lions campus. These inspiring young women got a chance to meet and be guided by fellow girls in tech, who showcased some of their incredible work. 🌟 EXCITING NEWS FOR LEARNING LIONS GRADUATE! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce that Learning Lions, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), has successfully implemented the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process for our graduates. RPL is a powerful tool that identifies, assesses, and certifies the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired through non-formal or informal learning, such as work or life experiences. This initiative ensures that our graduates' hard-earned skills are officially recognized and valued. Thanks to the generous sponsorship from ILO, 50 of our talented individuals will be certified for free! This is a significant milestone in their professional journeys, and we couldn't be prouder. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Government of Kenya GOK officials and Startup Lion's co-founders, marking the official start of this transformative initiative. The first phase of the assessment has already begun, setting the stage for our graduates to receive the recognition they deserve. 100km in 22,5 Stunden geschafft: der erste Löwenmarsch Berlin liegt hinter uns! Herzlichen Dank an alle die mitgemacht haben und hinter den Kulissen organisiert haben! Auch wenn die EU-Wahlergebnisse die euphorische Stimmung etwas dämpfen, so bin ich dennoch sehr dankbar für dieses Wochenende voll guter Momente: das Dämmerlicht der wandernden Sonne nachts im Norden über Tegel und Spandau zu beobachten, die vielen guten Gespräche mit Menschen aus verschiedenen Ländern und Regionen, die aber hier alle für die gute Sache und die körperliche und mentale Challenge aktiv waren, die vielen gutgelauntem und motivierenden Helfer und Unterstützer auf und abseits der Strecke, und nicht zuletzt auch für unser Team und die Studenten von Learning Lions in Kenia, bei dem ich weiß dass es sich lohnt sich diese 100km Anstrengung aufzubürden und um Spenden zu werben. EXCITING NEWS FROM LEARNING LIONS! We're thrilled to share the achievements of our partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) in transforming lives through IT training and job creation! At Learning Lions, we empower individuals with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age. Our multi-level training initiative equips participants with comprehensive digital skills, paving the way for successful tech careers. Level 1 - Mobile LEAP: A six-week intensive course where participants explore and become digitally proficient with Digital Skills, polished CVs, portfolios, and career roadmaps. Level 2: Bootcamp: Advanced training in system and network administration, web development, graphic design, and programming. Top performers progress to this stage through a competitive selection process. Level 3 - Advanced Track: Tailored for exceptional graduates, this level refines freelancing abilities and connects students with industry mentors, focusing on sellable skills. Impact: Graduates show significantly higher self-efficacy, growth mindset, and life satisfaction. They earn 40% more than the control group, with increased financial independence. Women's participation has doubled among graduates compared to applicants. Unemployment has reduced by 50%, and the share of IT jobs is three times higher among graduates, with 2.5 times more freelancers.
