In the article “Comprehensive Sex-Stratified Genetic Analysis of 28 Blood Biomarkers and Depression Reveals a Significant Association between Depression and Low Levels of Total Protein in Females” [Complex Psychiatry 2024;10(1–4):19–34, DOI: 10.1159/000538058] by Kiewa et al., the following revisions to the Statement of Ethics are required because of inadvertent error.

Original Statement of Ethics

We thank the participants and investigators of the UKB study for their invaluable contributions to this work. The analysis of UKB data was approved by the Human Research Ethical Conduct (UQ) (Project 2020 HE002938: Statistical Methods and Algorithms for Analysis Of and Application to Genetic Data Sets), but individual patient consent was not required as this study was based on publicly available data.

For Australian Genetics of Depression Study data, all study protocols were approved by the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute Human Research Ethics Committee (Ref 2118). The protocol for approaching participants through the DHS, enrolling them in the study, and consenting for all phases of the study (including invitation to future related studies) and accessing MBS and PBS records was approved by the Ethics Department of the Department of Human Services. Written and informed patient consent for participation in the study was obtained. We thank all Australian Genetics of Depression Study participants for their invaluable contributions to this work.
