Restaurant Manager for Agli Amici Dopolavoro, Isola delle Rose, Venice


Agli Amici Dopolavoro, located on the picturesque Isola delle Rose in Venice, is an exclusive, 40-cover fine dining restaurant that offers guests the highest quality cuisine complemented by unparalleled service. Chef Scarello, renowned for a technically complex and engaging menu with classical themes and authentic flavors, leads our kitchen. We are currently seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead and manage our exceptional team.

Role and Responsibilities

As the Restaurant Manager at Agli Amici Dopolavoro, you will:


  • Lead by Example: Uphold the service standards expected of a fine dining establishment.
  • Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Create a warm and welcoming experience for all guests, ensuring their expectations are exceeded at all times.
  • Maintain Expertise: Possess an outstanding knowledge of all food, wines, cooking techniques, and allergy requirements to provide appropriate advice to guests.
  • Oversee Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant team, ensuring exceptional standards are delivered and maintained.
  • Hands-On Management: Run and oversee shifts, maintaining a hands-on approach within the operation.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the restaurant is always impeccably presented, with a strong focus on cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Manage Inventory: Competently handle the ordering and control of stock items to ensure availability at all times.
  • Back-of-House Management: Oversee cleanliness, hygiene, stock control, and wastage in back-of-house service areas.
  • Adhere to Policies: Perform all duties under established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
  • Collaborate with the Kitchen: Maintain a strong and effective relationship with the kitchen team.
  • Train and Mentor: Be responsible for training and mentoring the front-of-house team.
  • Optimize Sales: Work alongside the F&B Manager to develop the business and optimize sales.
  • Duty Management: Perform duty management shifts as required.

The successful Restaurant Manager will have:

  • Experience: previous managerial experience in fine dining restaurants and Michelin Star restaurant service.
  • Passion for Food and Beverage: a true passion for all things food and beverage.
  • Strong Background: a solid background in the hotel or restaurant sector at a 5-star luxury standard.
  • Communication Skills: strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
  • Commercial Awareness: sound commercial and financial awareness.
  • Organizational Skills: proven organizational skills.
  • Team Leadership: proven track record as a strong team leader.
  • Attention to Detail: a keen eye for detail.
  • Food Knowledge: a passion for and strong knowledge of food and beverage, including an understanding of ingredients, cooking methods, and dietary requirements.
  • Consistency: ability to manage team members to deliver consistent quality of service.
  • High Standards: an understanding of the high standards demanded by a 5-star, Michelin Star establishment.
  • Guest Experience: the determination to create a memorable guest experience.
  • Resilience: drive to work within the pressure of a busy luxury restaurant environment.
