BeDimensional S.p.A. – Process Innovation Engineer of 2D materials

BeDimensional S.p.A. is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented process innovation engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will analyse and optimise, lab scale and pilot scale processes to improve efficiency in the production of 2D materials. This includes process designing, troubleshooting, process optimisation, process analysis, process documentation, quality control, project management, process automation and quality assurance. The selected candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement process improvement initiatives, and contribute to the overall success of our organisation.

The selected resource will have to maintain close contact with the R&D staff, and with the Operations Unit.

Objectives of the role:

• Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing R&D processes, identifying areas for improvement and proposing appropriate solutions.
• Design and implement the R&D process optimisation strategies, to enhance efficiency, improve product quality, and minimize waste.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Identify and implement process control measures, including statistical process control techniques, to ensure consistent quality and reduce process variation.
• Lead process validation activities, including protocol development, execution, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Operations Unit to ensure smooth integration of new processes, procedures, and equipment to ensure successful implementation and operation.
• Monitoring and analysing literature, process data, identifying trends, and proposing solutions for process improvement.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in process engineering technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
• Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Basic requirements required:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial, or similar).
• 3-5 years of experience as a process engineer.
• Proficient in process analysis, process modelling, statistical analysis, and simulation software.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and suggest resolutions for complex process issues.
• Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for teamwork and orientation towards "problem solving".
• Rigor and analytical ability.
• Flexibility and adaptability necessary in a start-up context.
• Mastery of the Microsoft Office package, CAD or AutoCad and Internet search engines.
• Mastery of the English language.

Additional preferential requirements:

• Master Degree in Materials Sciences, Physics, Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry, etc.;
• Experience with two-dimensional materials technology
