💥 Yesterday we announced a significant milestone with the launch of the Italian Founders Fund. We've gathered a community of over 100 founders and entrepreneurs who have come together to support the next generation of founders with a €50m fund. It's really exciting to see how much support there is for the next generation. Since I started to cover the 🇮🇹 Italian market with Global Founders Capital 3 years ago, I've witnessed so much development.I've met many talented individuals and ambitious new founders who are building the next generation of tech companies, and Italians across the VC landscape (Italians in VC). The pay-it-forward model from experienced founders towards the new generation has been essential in many ecosystems, and we aim to deliver it in Italy with significant impact. 🇮🇹 Vs 🇳🇱 - Top Funded Sectors in 2024 😳 Since Q1 just passed, it’s interesting to have a quick look at the numbers of these two ecosystems. To do so, together with Nicola, key figure in the Italian startup scene, we started by having an overview of European countries by VC investment in Q1 2024. Then, we analyzed the top funded sectors in the Italian and Dutch ecosystems up to this year’s Q1. 🇮🇹 Italian venture capital investment is currently tracking above all previous years in 2024 and with a focus on the following sectors: 📡 Enterprise 👩‍💻 Software 👩‍⚕️ Health 🤖 Robotics 🇳🇱 Investment is up 2.2x year on year. The Dutch VC landscape has been mainly focusing on: 💰 Fintech 🥗 Food 👩‍⚕️ Health 🚆 Transportation Although three out of four sectors are different, health is 3rd in both ecosystems.
