Building on our previous R&D pills post on brushed motors, let's examine SPAL brushless motors. Available in various voltage options (12V, 24V, and 48V) and supporting multiple control modes (PWM, LIN, CAN, Analog), SPAL brushless motors are adaptable to specific needs. Across all models, SPAL brushless motors offer a power range of ~40W to ~2,000W, a lifespan of up to 40,000 hours, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +120°C. These motors are equipped with integrated speed control, EMC filters, and integrated safety features (including over-temperature and over-current) to ensure reliable and efficient operations. In our previous R&D pills post, we discussed about the blades of our fans. So now, looking at our description (shroud – motor – blade), and taking a step back we will be focusing on the motor. SPAL produces two types of motors, brushed and brushless. In this post, we will delve into the brushed motors and spotlight their key families and attributes. The motors families are classified based on rotor diameter and axial depth, from the 3314 and 3314HD (heavy duty), to 50xx and 80xx, these motors offer tailored solutions to match specific requirements. With a maximum power output of up to 450W and a lifespan of 20,000 hours, our brushed motors deliver reliable performance even under extreme conditions. Their robust design ensures operational temperatures spanning from -20°C to +80°C, and in some cases also up to +105°C. Each SPAL motor family has distinctive features engineered to deliver stable performance across many applications. Stay tuned for further insights into SPAL motors!
