Welcome to the world, CAT16x! We are extremely proud to present BCN eMotorsport’s single-seater for the 2024 season. This car is the result of countless hours of work and dedication from the team members of the Industrial and Telecommunication Schools of UPC. Special thanks to both ETSEIB and ETSETB for providing us with the platform and opportunity to develop this project. We also want to express our most sincere gratitude to each and every sponsor for their collaboration and support. Without them, the CAT16x would not have been possible. Last but not least, a heartfelt thanks to all the professors, alumni, and family members for standing by our side through the highs and lows. After passing all Technical Inspections at Formula Student Austria, it was time to perform in the Dynamic Events. On Wednesday morning, we hit the Practice Area to check the car was in prime conditions for Acceleration and Skidpad. We completed our runs in the Styrian hills and set times on a drying track. In the afternoon, we queued up for Autocross, and put respectable times on the table in a challenging track layout. As the first competition comes to an end, it has been a very positive event for us all. Scrutineering preparations have massively paid off as we managed to pass all of them with lots of time to spare before Dynamic Events. Valuable feedback has been gathered by the Business, Cost & Design team and the CAT16x has shone on track for the first official time in the beautiful Austrian countryside. Tuesday was an extremely intense day, but equally rewarding. We queued up for Electrical Re-Scrutineering first thing in the morning, and managed to pass it after solving the issues that had arisen from the previous try. That being said, it was Statics day. Right after Electrical Inspection, we had the Engineering Design and Cost & Manufacturing events, and later in the afternoon, the Business Plan was presented, leaving a good impression on the judges and securing a 6th place finish. The third day of Formula Student Austria culminated in the best way possible, as Tilt, Rain and Brake Tests were all passed on the first try. With all Inspection stickers on the CAT16x, we are Ready To Race in the Dynamic Events. Let’s get it!

The first two days have gone by quickly at Formula Student Austria. After arriving on Saturday afternoon, we got settled in at the Campsite by setting up the temporary box and preparing the Technical Inspections scheduled for Day 1. Pre-Inspection was cleared swiftly, and considerable progress was made in Accumulator Inspection. We managed to pass it on Monday, another day filled with Scrutineerings. The Mechanical Inspection sticker was obtained on the first try, and Electrical Inspection was advanced significantly. The day ended with Static Events preparation, all of which will take place today. Let’s hope for the best!

We are finishing up the preparations for the competitions, which means bringing along spare parts in case of any unexpected problems. Here you can see the suspension arms being prepared, using Loctite's super-strong adhesives. These amazing products help us ensure the parts are solid and stable. Henkel Adhesive Technologies

Last week, the CAT16x’s full potential was unleashed, as it took to the track in Driverless mode. Here are some snapshots from that Testing session, right at Barcelona’s coastline!
