Professor and Deputy Director Martin Ruhs is the Scientific Coordinator for our Effective Migration Management #ExecEd course. 🎓 He recently wrote a letter to our community about why we created this course, stating: 📝 "Migration policy is not black and white, but too often public discourse and even research debates give this impression. In fact, there are a number of fundamental goal conflicts in migration policy and we need training spaces to help us learn to navigate them." 🌎 If you want to move beyond black-and-white policy discourse and crisis responses, sign up for Effective Migration Management: Putting Policy into Action 🚀 7-9 October 2024 Florence, Italy 🇮🇹 Highlights✨ ✔️ Learn from academic and policy experts 🎓 ✔️ Explore critical aspects of #migrationpolicy, design, and implementation 📊 ✔️ Benefit from sessions, case studies, and peer discussions 💡 Register today ➡️ https://loom.ly/56sqluM

Many migrants first arrive in EU border countries, like Italy 🇮🇹 Spain 🇪🇸 Croatia 🇭🇷 and Greece 🇬🇷 but then what? ❓Why do some migrants stay in their first country of arrival while others move to other European countries? ❓What are the consequences of mobility for migrants’ experiences? These are questions that the #PRIMEprojectEU is working to shed light on. In this new blog post 📃 researchers Roberto Forin Giulia Bruschi and Giulia Testa from our consortium partner, the Mixed Migration Centre (MMC) describe what we know about the mobility trajectories and experiences of newly arrived migrants in EU border countries and how we’ll collect longitudinal data to uniquely expand this limited knowledge base.
