Alliance of humanitarian/development partners sharing knowledge and coordinating evidence-based responses to food crises
Chi siamo
The Global Network Against Food Crises (GNAFC) is an alliance of humanitarian and development actors united by the commitment to address the root causes of food crises and promote sustainable solutions through shared analysis and knowledge, strengthened coordination in evidence-based responses and collective efforts across the Humanitarian, Development and Peace (HDP) nexus. Together with partners such as the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP), we publish reports such as the Global Report on Food Crises, Hunger Hotspots, and other publications found in our Resources section as well as public events addressing food insecurity, and its root causes in climate, conflict and economic factors.

Join us at #ECOSOCHAS2024 on June 25, 1:15-2:30 EDT for an impactful side-event "The Urgent Need to Address Famine Risks and Acute Food Insecurity" in-person at the United Nations HQ in New York or virtually by registering on https://lnkd.in/dbcrsqHz. This critical discussion will feature insights from a distinguished group of leaders and experts including Mark Smith, VP for Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs at World Vision USA, who will explore the root causes of hunger and discuss measures that can be taken to reduce acute #FoodInsecurity and to prevent #Famine. Mark will also draw from World Vision's critical and timely publication which spoke to vulnerable communities in six countries (#Afghanistan, #Bangladesh, #DRCongo, #Lebanon, #Uganda, and #Somalia) that have been affected by recent shortfalls in emergency food and cash assistance resulting in an alarming increase in negative coping mechanisms such as #ChildLabour and #MentalHealthRisks. https://lnkd.in/dwPiUG8k Don't miss this opportunity to engage with global leaders and contribute to the conversation. Together, we can make a difference and work towards a world where no one has to suffer from #hunger, especially #children.
