Dear The Coca-Cola Company, I have a question for you... During my childhood in Iran, I remember when we would buy Coca-Cola in glass bottles, we were not supposed to trash or recycle the bottles. Instead, we needed to collect them and return them to our local supermarkets. The factory would then collect, wash, and reuse them for more and more uses. Now, I don't know about the political story of Coca-Cola being sold in Iran, but from a sustainability point of view, this was a genius idea. I mean: 1. We all go to restaurants and drink from glasses, and we don't expect that every time we drink, a new glass is melted and recycled for us to drink from. So, why should we think this way about the drinks we buy from super markets? 2. Our family of two puts at least 6-7 glass bottles per week in the recycling bin. Every time I do it, I feel stupid because they are in perfect shape and could be reused. 3. Why do we need to collect, separate, wash, melt, reshape, and fill instead of collecting, washing, and refilling? These are all genuine questions. Please help 😀 . #circulareconomy #sustainability #SDGs

Why Healing Ourselves is Key to Solving Climate Change? Most people see climate change as a technical issue in need of a technical solution. But is it really? While technical solutions are crucial, they wont be effective unless we address the root cause—our own behaviors and mindsets. Here’s why healing ourselves is essential to solving climate change: #climatechange #climate #sustainability

In a society with distorted values, even the most natural parts of life can feel like problems... . While architecture and urban design cannot resolve all the hardships, sacrifices, and challenges that women or mothers face in the society of today, they can certainly enhance access to crucial needs related to motherhood and postpartum care, such as fostering connections to a caring community in cities. For this to happen, we, of course, need a paradigm shift in the values that shape our society and, consequently, our built environment. But since there is still a long way forward, my question today is this: Can we, as architects and urban designers, begin to ask ourselves, "What would happen if we put care, community, and belonging at the center of how we build our cities rather than prioritizing efficiency and speed?" .
