Founded in October 4, 2001, the Public Relations Consultants Association of India was a brain child of a group of seven like-minded PR Firms, with the aim to further the cause of the PR industry in India and support budding communications professionals across the country. Modeled on the successful UK PRCA, the PRCAI is not only the Indian PR industry’s flagship trade association but also a forum for government, public bodies,industry associations, trade and others to confer with public relations consultants through one body. The PRCAI has a strong North, South, East and West regional network which provides cohesive and uniform support to our members.

It’s time to rethink risk and crisis management and be prepared for things to go wrong.” 💡 Another chapter of PRCAI Engage concluded with insightful takeaways and a roadmap on navigating 'Reputation, Risk, and Resilience' for communications professionals. 💬 During the session, Rod Cartwright and Govindraj Ethiraj explored the importance of rethinking risk and crisis management practices. Rod underscored the distinction between a crisis and an unforeseen incident, emphasising that not every negative event qualifies as a crisis. He also delved into the various triggers for crises, including operational and cultural factors. Here are some of the key insights from the session: ✅ India ranks among the most trusting populations globally in terms of brands and businesses. ✅ There is a need to redefine risk and crisis management, viewing crises as turning points for businesses. ✅ Crisis triggers include both externally generated operational issues and internal cultural and behavioural challenges. ✅ Broad crisis themes include geopolitics, misinformation, cybersecurity threats, climate change, economic instability, and societal resilience. ✅ Challenges in crisis management comprise sensemaking, resilience building, cultural alignment, preparedness, trust, and emerging technologies integration.
