Rajat’s winning solution involved a meticulous approach that utilized group time series split based on days, yielding better results than year-based splits. He leveraged an ensemble of different cross-validation strategies with LGBM as the base model and analyzed daily peaks to gain deeper insights. Additionally, he incorporated clear sky metrics such as temperature, transmittance, and air mass for enhanced context. Rajat also applied essential lag, rolling, and expanding statistics for robust time series forecasting. Outliers were capped using a "Gaussian" method, while aggregated features were created by grouping numeric columns over wind direction and day of the week.
