The IITM Research Park was pleased to host Mr. Edgar Pang, Consul-General, Singapore Consulate-General in Chennai (covering Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and the Union Territory of Puducherry). "This is a very good example of the nexus between research and industry and how they come together. It is a great showcase for #IIT, as well as the industries of Tamil Nadu and India," he said following a comprehensive tour of the IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP) and IITM Incubation Cell. During his visit, Mr. Pang engaged with some of our leading incubated startups, including AgniKul Cosmos, Solinas Integrity Pvt. Ltd., Planys Technologies, NeoMotion, XYMA Analytics , and Skillveri MR & XR Simulations. On May 30th, India witnessed the launch of AgniKul Cosmos's Agnibaan SORTED powered by the world’s first semi-cryogenic, single-piece, 3D-printed engine –a pioneering technological feat. While the world celebrated this moment, we especially wanted to honour the individuals and family members who were instrumental to AgniKul’s growth and have inevitably been a part of making history. At "Lift-off", we saw a delightful evening with the Agnikul team, their families, and friends, filled with conversations and reflections on the inspiring stories of the hard work and perseverance that culminated in the incomparable achievement of launching Mission 01 of Agnibaan SOrTeD. Together, we have witnessed Agnikul's incredible journey from being incubated at the IITM Incubation Cell to becoming an R&D partner and building Agnibaan's engine at their Rocket 1 factory housed at Research Park. Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India (PSA to GoI) and Chairperson of the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology & Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC), visited IITMRP today along with Dr. Parvinder Maini, Scientific Secretary, Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. As part of the visit, they interacted with IITMRP President Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala and gained a comprehensive overview of the Research Park. Prof. Sood engaged in discussions with some of our startups at IITM Incubation Cell, including AgniKul Cosmos, Flowtrik Technologies Private Limited, Solinas Integrity Pvt.
