Mobilizing and inspiring action for reducing food loss and food waste in India, WRI India recently organized the 7th quarterly meeting for the Friends of Champions 12.3 India network. Dr. Raya Das, Fellow, ICRIER presented her recent study, Reducing Post-Harvest Losses in Indian Agriculture: A Case Study of Selected Crops, conducted alongside Prof. Ashok Gulati and Prof. Alex Winter-Nelson. This study focuses on wheat, maize, soybean, and paddy in the states of Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar. During the presentation, Dr. Raya set the context and importance of studying food grain losses in India and how education and policy interventions can be important factors in preventing these losses. The findings were well received by the attendees and made for an insightful Q&A session towards the end. We thank our guest speaker, Dr. Raya for showcasing her exciting work.
