The stationery brand wanted to sell one productโโits long-lasting pen with an ink that goes on and on for hours; and we doubt anyone in the world has to write more than the therapists of Jason Voorhes, Pennywise and Jack the Reaper. This is precisely the narrative Faber-Castell weaved in this campaign titled โPsychological Problemsโ! With not only a great choice of notorious characters but also the therapistsโ spot-on expression of complete bewilderment (and rightfully so), this ad did not even need anything more than a mere two words to sell. Hereโs an adorable reminder to stand up for the pregnant. #GoodAdsMatter In 2014, Yili Milk, a Chinese dairy brand (which also stands tall among the top five dairy producers in the world), reached out to Ogilvy with a simple brief for their mothersโ welfare campaign: encourage commuters to offer their seats to pregnant women. So the creative team came up with an endearing yet powerful campaign that highlights the difference between what an expecting woman is carrying in her womb and what another seated youngster is carrying in their stomach. A beer in your gut definitely does not compare to a child in a womb, right? So stand up. That ray of light falling on your chicken wings is nature itself approving of the brandโs sustainability programmes. #GoodAdsMatter KFC knows how to have fun, but they also know how to set a good example of all the right things a brand should be doingโโin both marketing as well as corporate social responsibility. They wanted to highlight and celebrate some proud statistics: that 31% of their chains now operate on solar energy, 26% of their chicken is now fried with solar energy and that they have tripled their solar-powered locations in a mere three years. How did they do it? A table with a ใปPerfectly angular ray of sun falling on the surface to highlight, quite literally, the solar power usage statistic, ใปA crisp copy carefully placed right by it that makes it all the harder to overlook it, ใปAnd, of course, KFCโs star menu in the shadowsโโnot stealing the show but not being forgotten either. We love these visuals and even more so the truth that they tell! A message communicated with such creativity and conviction goes on to be heard and talked about, leaving behind a positive brand impression for a long time. Every year, the announcement is made in the form of another unique idea and creative representation. What did we get in 2014? Half the budget of 2013 and some of Britainโs richest morphed into fluffy cats. The term โFat Catโ, often a rather derogatory label for the wealthy, was quite literally manifested in the 2014 edition of the Rich List! Globally renowned animal photographer, Tim Flach, clicked some beautiful model cats that were later retouched into some rich folks. The impact? A sales uplift of 100k, an increase in the market share by 28.3% on the day of the campaign launch and 1.4M Twitter (now, X) impressions to say the least. An undeniably grand success.
