The only way to create a #CervicalCancerMuktBharat is to reach out to the farthest parts of the community and educate them about Cervical Cancer. As part of the American Cancer Society partnership, CAPED India worked on "Cervical Cancer Prevention in India Through Community Outreach". Mr. Ravi Sisodia , Head of Operations (Implementation) conducted 10 awareness workshops and trained over 534 ASHA workers across Gurgaon, and over 214 ASHA workers during 4 awareness workshops organised in Rajsamand over a period of two months. It is through the support and cooperation of ASHA workers that we can reach the most rural areas and connect with the women to spread awareness about the perils of cervical cancer. With proper awareness, education and accessibility to resources, we can together eliminate #cervicalcancer from India. SP Seva Sansthan Foundation
About us
CAPED – Cancer Awareness, Prevention and Early Detection, is an NGO established for the dissemination of information and awareness creation about the latest developments in the field of cancer. CAPED – Cancer Awareness, Prevention and Early Detection Trust has chosen the cause of women-related cancers with a focus on cervical cancer. Our mission is to identify and create different arenas to spread awareness and knowledge among women and empower them to take action regarding their own health. Why Cervical Cancer? The ‘preventable’ cancer Cervical cancer kills more women in India than anywhere in the world. It need not. Cervical cancer is one of India’s many healthcare ironies. It is a disease that experts say can largely be prevented. Yet, in India, it affects 1,32,000 women each year of whom 72,000 women lose their battle with it, according to the Cervical Cancer-Free Coalition. With greater awareness, it is possible to miligate the damage done by this continuously-exploding bomb if not completely dismantle it.

Over the past four months, the CAPED India Team, together with the Indian Cancer Society collaborated on a project supported by LG CSR, in which we have made a tremendous impact in raising awareness and organizing screening camps in and around Gautam Buddha Nagar, Noida, UP. Here's what we've achieved: 🗣️ Educated over 57,000 people through door-to-door mobilization, ensuring everyone gets the message. 🌇 Reached out to 27 villages, bringing crucial information to every corner. 🩺 Screened 2,948 individuals for cervical, breast, and oral cancers, taking proactive steps towards early detection. 🎓 Trained 56 ASHA Workers, empowering them to spread awareness and take action. 🫂 Supported 26 people who tested positive, offering them the care and assistance they need. As we wrap up the "Cervical, Breast, and Oral Cancer Awareness, Prevention, and Early Detection Project," we are proud of the difference we've made and are excited to continue our journey towards a healthier, #CervicalCancerMuktBharat. Your support and participation have been invaluable. Together, we can keep making a positive impact. #CAPED #CAPEDIndia #IndianCancerSociety #CervicalCancerAwareness #CervicalCancer #BreastCancer #OralCancer #CancerScreening

This is such a great step towards eliminating cervical cancer globally by bringing us one step closer to achieving WHO goals. At-home #HPV DNA testing kits are instrumental in providing easily available and secure testing facilities to women at the convenience of their homes. More countries should follow UK's lead and make at home HPV testing kits accessible for women.
