The most common types of fatal accidents for workers continue to fall from height, according to a recent HSE report in the UK. In 2023/24, 50% of the 138 workers who died in work-related accidents fell from a height. Construction remains the most dangerous industry, with 51 fatal injuries reported last year. At Skyline Cockpit, we prioritize the safety of employees. We have addressed part of the issue of falls from heights by shifting tower crane control to the ground, eliminating the need for crane operators to climb to dangerous heights. Recent research from QBE Insurance, reported on by UK Construction Media, has unveiled some concerning statistics about mental health in the UK construction industry, employing 3.1 million people (over 9% of the workforce): - Over 5.1 million working days were lost to poor mental health last year, contributing to the 18 million lost working days across the whole UK economy. - Mental health issues cost the UK construction industry at least £1.2bn per year, with 1.7 days lost per worker. - For those continuing to work despite mental ill health, a staggering 76% reported an increased risk of injury. We care deeply about mental health, and we believe that shifting operators to work from the ground can mitigate mental health risks. By bringing operators closer to their teams and colleagues, we foster a supportive environment that enhances well-being and reduces the likelihood of injury. Let's prioritise mental health and create safer, healthier workplaces. #MentalHealth #Construction #WorkplaceSafety

Vice President @ Procore Technologies | Construction Technology Evangelist, Partnerships Leader, Digital Transformation Facilitator

What an amazing week this week. I got to spend so much great time with co-workers, customers, prospects and industry thought leaders both out at jobsites and at great events. 🇬🇧 Day 1️⃣ in London let me connect with industry thought leaders David A. and Brett King as well as our partner Glider Technology in our London office. I also got to take in the London skyline with Mike Carroll and try and count how many cranes I could see but I kept losing count. 🇬🇧 Day 2️⃣ 3️⃣ we headed to Birmingham to visit an awesome jobsite with our customer Winvic Construction Ltd. We filmed a Student housing multi-unit project that was really pushing the limits on innovation and culture. Robotic Layout via HP SitePrint layout robots, GAMMA AR Augmented Quality inspections, innDex Site Control systems and much much more were all on showcase at the project. Perhaps most impressively was the engagement of the next generation of the workforce like Isaac Dinning, Deniz Arslan, Mohammad Sammad, Viktoriia Grachova. Huge shoutout to the film crew from Other Finger Films LTD. they were amazing to work with. 🇮🇪 Day 4️⃣ was in Dublin where we launched our Procore wrapped LUAS Tram on the red line in Dublin city. It was followed up with a customer event where we discussed Change Management and Digital Transformation before heading out for a few pints. It was great to spend time with customers like Lisa Trainor from OHMG Ltd and Anthony Condo from PJ Hegarty & Sons and to discuss industry challenges with thought leaders like Mike Murphy and Daniel Kavanagh. Huge shout out to Lucy Archer-Shuter for pulling these events together. Truly an amazing week and I am so inspired by what the industry is doing with technology and how they are improving the best industry in the world.

🔍 An insightful article by David Glennon at Mace, published in Construction News, resonated deeply with our team. Titled "Data is the Innovation Gift That Keeps on Giving," it highlights an important aspect of our industry—effective data collection and analysis are key to understanding and solving the challenges in construction. 🏗️ The value of data stretches far beyond its initial collection, impacting areas such as health, safety, and sustainability. Moreover, if we could enhance data sharing across organisations, the speed at which we realise these benefits could dramatically increase. 🚀 At Skyline Cockpit, we wholeheartedly agree! This is precisely why we're channelling efforts into R&D, developing a decision-driving dashboard that gathers and transforms crane utilisation data into actionable insights. 🤝 As we continue to innovate, we're excited about the doors that such integrated data usage can open—not just for us but for the entire industry. #Constructiontech #Cranes #Innovation
