📊 Poll Results: Should Social Media Have Warning Labels? We recently asked for your thoughts on US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy's suggestion to add tobacco-style warning labels on social media to protect young people. Here’s what you had to say: 🟢 52% think it's a great idea. 🟡 35% believe it's better than nothing. 🔴 13% are against it. It isn’t surprising that most of you back efforts to tackle this issue head-on — Our youths’ mental health and data safety should be top of mind. Several states and countries have already begun efforts to try and limit the youths’ exposure on social media: - Fines imposed on TikTok by the Italian government; - New York’s health advisory on algorithmically-driven social media platforms; - Florida’s case against social media usage for children under the age of fourteen; and - Georgia’s bill to seek parental permission before allowing children to join social media. We hear you. This move suggested by the Surgeon General is yet another way we can potentially limit young people’s exposure to the harmful, unsafe content littered across social media. While some action is being taken, we must continue to work together — individuals, businesses, and governments alike — to protect young people from the negative effects that social media may have on their development and growth. We love to hear from you. Thank you to everyone who took part in our poll and stay tuned for more. ✅
