Washington State, the western-most state in the Pacific Northwest region of America, is by far the country’s largest producer of apples. In fact, Washington’s 175,000 acres of orchards produce over half the apples consumed in the United States. 🍎 Thank you to our colleague Melinda C. McCann ADAMA US for sharing this eye-catching image of #apple orchards from field tours in Washington state. #PhotoFriday 📷

Fascinating insights from our President and CEO Steven Hawkins following his visit to France; where he joined farmers to see first-hand the field trials using our Asorbital® Formulation Technology.   These valuable shared experiences inspire the vital conversations, that ensure we continue to provide growers with the solutions they need.

Exciting things are happening as we continue to support the Value Innovation customer segment, which includes many of the world's growers looking for high-quality, advanced solutions that deliver a strong return on investment. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Adama France and connecting with local farmers involved in the Farmers Field Platform - "Graines d'Avenir" ("Seeds of the Future"). We're currently conducting field trials on products based on Asorbital® Formulation Technology, set to launch in the French market soon and already showing impressive results with enhanced efficacy. It's incredibly valuable for us at ADAMA, and personally for me, to meet with our growers and validate how we can continue to address their needs and aspirations with innovative solutions that secure them value. The positive feedback I received from the farmers we met in France was incredibly motivating. These interactions assure us that our hard work is truly making an impact in helping farmers achieve better yields and adopt more sustainable practices. A big thank you to ADAMA France for hosting me. Next on my agenda are Brazil and Argentina, where I'm eager to explore their local agricultural practices and continue our discussions on innovation.

With a population in excess of 215 million people, Brazil is on a mission to become self-sufficient in wheat over the next decade; aiming to produce sufficient harvests of the crop to satisfy the nation’s demand, which currently stands at over 12 million tonnes.* While wheat growing has been traditionally centred in the south of the country, #farming is set to expand into the central areas of Brazil, using wheat varieties that are more resistant to the dry weather and soil conditions of the Region. 🌾 Thanks to our colleague André Shimohiro (André) for shining a light on Brazilian wheat production, by sharing this stunning image of fields at Mandaguari, in the state of Paraná, in the Southern Region of Brazil. #PhotoFriday 📷 *Statista

In our rapidly changing world, #farmers are faced with increasingly complex agronomic challenges as they strive to maintain yields, and find sustainable #CropProtection options that reduce environmental impact.   Our challenge is to learn from experiences in the field; using our expertise to create innovative technologies for our products, to help farmers grow crops and feed the world’s growing population.   🧪 SESGAMA™ technology enables more active ingredient to exist in a smaller volume, reducing environmental impact throughout the life of the product.   🌾 Asorbital® technology improves leaf penetration and the movement of active ingredient through the plant, giving superior performance to protect cereal yields.   These are just two of our many proprietary technologies, that are the basis for our continued #innovation providing new, sustainable formulations aligned with growers’ needs.

The common poppy (Papaver rhoeas) may be beautiful, but for #farmers it’s a troublesome weed; especially in winter cereals and oilseed rape, where it can compete with crops and reduce yields.🌾 By quickly growing and setting seed before the host crop is mature, poppies can ensure their long-term survival. The tiny seeds spread efficiently in the wind and can remain dormant for up to 100 years; waiting patiently in soil for the perfect conditions, before new plants germinate in autumn and spring, and the #weeds thrive once again. 🌱 In this stunning image sent by our colleague Remigijus Peleckis (PhD) for #PhotoFriday, we see poppies growing in winter wheat fields in the Panevėžys District Municipality, of Lithuania.

Combining #AgTech solutions with innovations in #CropProtection products is one of the most exciting prospects for sustainable #agriculture. In Brazil, we’ve partnered with Baldan Connected on a project that applies products to sugar cane fields using drones, which can potentially reduce the use of herbicides by up to 85% in some applications. 🛩️ Delivering precise application, only where needed, and overcoming problems with monitoring and treating well developed crops,  or those in awkward terrain; drones are proving to be a valuable asset, helping to sustainably tackle some of the most troublesome problems in the cultivation of sugar cane. 🛰️ Read more about this innovative project in the article published by Agro Pages ➡️ https://bit.ly/3W1Xg8u

When sugar cane was first introduced to Brazil more than 500 years ago, it was almost as valuable as gold! Since then the crop has become a cornerstone of the country’s agriculture and economy, with Brazil becoming the largest sugar producing country in the world. 🪙 Farmers producing sugar cane are not only vital contributors to the global demand for sugar, but they are also supplying the raw material needed to make ethanol - a central product in the growing demand for biofuels. 🚗 Thanks to our colleague André Shimohiro (André) for capturing this image of sugar cane farmers working in fields in the Rolândia province of Brazil. 📷 #PhotoFriday
