Viplav Rahi

Viplav Rahi is the Editor of Financial Express Hindi. He has been associated with FinancialExpress.com since 2021. He has around 27 years of journalism experience in print, television, and digital news media and has written more than 10,000 articles/stories, as well as TV scripts. During his long career, he has worked with many prestigious organisations, including Star News, CNBC Awaaz, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, and Amar Ujala. As a member of the editorial team that launched the Star News channel from Mumbai, he was responsible for prime shows, including the 9 pm flagship news show – Star Report. He was also part of the core editorial team responsible for launching the Hindi Business News channel CNBC Awaaz. Apart from heading the non-market band in Awaaz, he also produced a consumer-centric informative show, Awaaz Plus, which was a huge success at the time. He again joined Star News (later ABP News) in 2006, and during his approximately 12-year-long second innings there, he looked after various news-based shows/bulletins, including Star Special, 24 Ghante 24 Reporter, and Jan Man, apart from handling special events like Union Budget Day coverages. He left ABP News to launch a Hindi news channel, Swaraj Express, where he led the news team as the Output Head and also participated in the live studio discussions on various political and economic issues. Before venturing into television news channels, Viplav served as the News Editor at Dainik Bhaskar, where he successfully revamped the Bhopal edition of the newspaper. Viplav has also worked for the National Edition of the prominent Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, where he worked on the general desk. He started his professional journey in New Delhi as part of the editorial team of India’s first Hindi Business Daily, Amar Ujala Karobaar, where he looked after the weekly supplement “Kalpviksha,” Corporate and Banking Desks, and also worked on the edit page. Viplav also worked as a freelance journalist in Varanasi, contributing regularly to the business and economy pages of the Hindi daily Dainik Aaj. Viplav has a keen interest in India’s Economy and Politics, International Affairs, Social Issues, and Human/Civil Rights. Apart from the media industry, he has also worked in the social sector for a short period, where he was the India Programme Manager for the World Literacy of Canada.
