T. S. Eliot (1888-1965)

T. S. (Thomas Stearns) Eliot, was a poet, playwright, and literary critic. He was born in the United States and moved to the United Kingdom in 1914 and was naturalized as a British subject in 1927.

This collection includes materials previously identified by the following call numbers: Za Eliot, Uncat Za MS 109, and Uncat Za File 484 . Photocopies of catalog cards and provenance information are filed in Box 1.

One letter is missing from the collection: 1 typed letter signed from Eliot to Robert Fitzgerald, 1960 March 29, 1 page, 20.5 cm.

Access Information

The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections. You will need to bring appropriate photo ID the first time you register. Beinecke is a non-circulating, closed stack library. Paging is done by library staff during business hours. You can request collection material online at least two business days in advance of your visit, using the request links in Archives at Yale.
