About Dance Rock
In its simplest form, Dance Rock is a fusion genre of dance and rock music. Some dance rock acts incorporate elements of electronic music and dance pop.
The stylistic origins of dance rock can be divided into two different categories. The first is described by Michael Campbell in his book Popular Music in America, with stylistic origins in post-punk, post-disco, and pop-rock. The other is described by the music site AllMusic, placing stylistic origins in funk, Philadelphia soul, R&B, and disco.
