Application Requirements

  • Demonstrate a commitment to leadership and personal development
  • Have a grade point average of approximately 2.8 in your school coursework. (Please contact us if you do not fulfill this requirement, but are still interested in applying).
  • Complete an FLA Youth Leadership Conference application and drop it off to one of our offices, send it by mail or e-mail by April 15th. If you send it by e-mail, please send it to ylc@futureleadersnow.org with the subject line: YLC 2024 Application – Your Full Name – Your Region (Ex: YLC 2024 Application – Santa Maria)

Future Leaders of America Master Achievers (FLAMAS)

A youth-led space that engages young people with leadership, advocacy, and educational opportunities. The groups meet on a bi-weekly basis in Port Hueneme, Oxnard, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, and Santa Maria.

University Seminars

Inspiring youth to enter higher education through exploring different college campuses, and learning about admissions requirements, financial aid, student life, and career opportunities.

Family Leadership Conference

A 3-day weekend experience- bridging Latinx families to higher education. Highlighting the importance of higher education, being an advocate for youth, and building positive family communication.
