The certificate program in African Studies is designed to provide students with both a general knowledge of Africa and an understanding of the socioculture of specific regions through the study of geography, history, language, literature, religion, and other subjects.

The Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute coordinates interdisciplinary research, curriculum offerings, and public programs which deal with Latin America, the Caribbean, and Latinos in Georgia. The Institute offers a major, a minor, an undergraduate certificate, and a graduate certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies.

Franklin College-University of Liverpool Doctoral Student Short-Term International Research Fellowship

The week-long Franklin College-University of Liverpool Doctoral Student Short-Term International Research Fellowship is open to Ph.D. students in any discipline in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Through this Fellowship program, students will have the opportunity to conduct research, offer a public lecture, and meet with faculty and graduate students in order to develop an international network of research contacts. Fellows are expected to be on the University of Liverpool campus for one business week.
