Cette démarche de réduction globale visait à promouvoir les séjours “bas carbone” au Pays Basque tout en évaluant et réduisant l'impact environnemental de cette campagne grâce à nos solutions. 🌱 Nous sommes ravis des résultats obtenus, démontrant que de simples gestes peuvent positivement impacter l’environnement sans sacrifier la performance des campagnes média. AI has dominated the discussion in marketing over the past 18 months. That’s understandable given the potential of the technology to streamline and empower existing marketing opportunities – but it has come at the expense of engaging with its potential downsides. A recent report from Microsoft suggested that the software giant’s bold pledge to remove more carbon than it emits by 2030 is now under threat. That isn’t because it has backtracked on its climate commitments – but because the company’s scramble to become the global AI leader has led its emissions to rise by 30%. It is indicative of a wider trend and sustainability has slipped down the agenda. Climate change can’t be fixed overnight but we have no time to waste. We can’t look away. We need to keep in mind that the decisions we make today will impact the rest of our children’s lives, as the lifespan of CO2 means it remains in the atmosphere for over 100 years. As marketers you can act now and your role in helping to reduce advertising’s impact on the environment is crucial. This year at Cannes, we saw the unveiling of the Global Media Sustainability Framework by the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) and Ad Net Zero. This is something the team at IMPACT Plus has been both advising on and looking forward to for a while now, so it was great to be there to see it! Setting common standards on how advertisers measure their carbon emissions is a significant milestone in the creation of a more sustainable ad ecosystem. Having that common framework allows us to pull together to transform our entire industry for the better. I spoke to The Drum about why it was encouraging to see so many discussions around sustainability at this year’s festival. Yesterday, WFA Garm reached a very important first milestone for more responsible advertising. The advertising industry now has a proposal for scope to measure, and a first version of the formula for evaluating the impacts of TV, Digital and OOH. It's taken months of intense collaborative work (Special thanks to Felicity Stinton, Aina Fuller, Bill Wescott, Maël L., Robert Rakowitz, Dimitris Beis for leading these workshops) but that work has finally borne fruit. IMPACT Plus will, of course, continue to participate, with the next round of work on the data needed to feed these formulas.
