AI has dominated the discussion in marketing over the past 18 months. That’s understandable given the potential of the technology to streamline and empower existing marketing opportunities – but it has come at the expense of engaging with its potential downsides.   A recent report from Microsoft suggested that the software giant’s bold pledge to remove more carbon than it emits by 2030 is now under threat. That isn’t because it has backtracked on its climate commitments – but because the company’s scramble to become the global AI leader has led its emissions to rise by 30%.   It is indicative of a wider trend and sustainability has slipped down the agenda.   Climate change can’t be fixed overnight but we have no time to waste. We can’t look away. We need to keep in mind that the decisions we make today will impact the rest of our children’s lives, as the lifespan of CO2 means it remains in the atmosphere for over 100 years.   As marketers you can act now and your role in helping to reduce advertising’s impact on the environment is crucial. #dentsuSwitchWeek | Lundi, thème 1 : la Vidéo avec le groupe TF1 et les partenaires green. Ce matin s’est tenue la première session de notre #dentsu « Sw!tch Week », une semaine de #workshops et d'événements en faveur d'une #communication plus #responsable. Pour cette matinée dédiée à la #vidéo et animée par Julie Humeau et Martin Brunet, nos annonceurs, experts et collaborateurs, étaient réunis autour de notre #régie partenaire, TF1 Publicité, ainsi que plusieurs solutions responsables : Impact+, SeenThis et Viewpay. Le but de ce collectif engagé : faire émerger pour ensuite développer des initiatives concrètes, que nous appelons « #drops », en faveur de la #décarbonation et de la #diversité dans la #publicité. A l’issue de ce premier workshop, près d’une dizaine de drops ont ainsi été imaginés et priorisés en termes d’expérience client, d’impact et de faisabilité. Les trois drops jugés les plus pertinents seront maintenant soumis au vote de nos annonceurs au cours d’une session de restitution, le 21 juin prochain, aux côtés de drops à venir cette semaine, issus des workshops « OOH », « publishing & brand content », « social et influence » et enfin « audio ».
