Meet Haley Johnson, Associate Engineer in R&D Process Development, at our site in Geneva, Illinois, USA. She works on exploratory protein development in the pilot plant supporting the manufacturing plant in Portage la Prairie, MB, Canada, and protein extrusion technologies. She likes learning about the plant's processes, has even been able to be a part of commissioning recently, and is part of the Geneva Green Team, working on local sustainability initiatives.    For our post on International Women in Engineering Day, Haley shared what she enjoys about working as an engineer at Roquette: “Being able to pick apart different problems or subjects in order to find a solution is always such a rewarding experience! I like how different each day is. Caring for people* and improving the well-being of others is central to what we do at Roquette. Our team at Roquette in India donated life-saving equipment recently to the Gokak Taluka** Hospital, which we have supported in the past by donating intensive care equipment.     As part of the Gokak community where Roquette also has a production site, the Gokak Taluka Hospital serves a population of one million people. Roquette in India offered to install diagnostic and life-saving equipment to help address medical needs in the area, focusing on neonatal care. Medical instruments such as incubators, continuous-flow anesthetic machine and pulse oximeter were installed at the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). We also donated non-stress test tools for assessing fetal heartrate and ophthalmology equipment.     Coinciding with India’s National Doctors' Day on July 1, the new medical equipment was inaugurated by local government officials and a group of Roquette employees from our Gokak site.     Our donation helps make healthcare more accessible to local patients so that they do not have to travel to metropolitan cities for medical emergencies. The Roquette team is sharing PLANT POSITIVITY at IFT FIRST today! As part of our participation at this year's Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)  event, we are literally helping plant positivity by donating to One Tree Planted to plant 5,000 trees. 🌲 🌱 Our donation will go to their Forest Fire Fund to support reforestation efforts after wildfires. 🌟 Today, the Fondation Roquette pour la Santé and Decathlon Foundation present the winners of their call for projects "Sport and Nutrition for Good Health!" 🏀 🥑   The Roquette Foundation and Decathlon Foundation are partnering to promote access to healthy food and adapted physical activity for people in vulnerable situations. In March 2024, the two entities launched a joint call for projects aimed at supporting actions in favor of sports and nutrition in France, Brazil, and India.   With a jury for each country, five associations were selected, all of which had projects that met the criteria of the call for projects: the Marca Institution in Brazil, the Shreeja Association in India, the Apprentis d'Auteuil, Comme Les Autres, and Enfance, Adolescence et Diabète associations in France. These projects will be supported by the two Foundations for a total of more than €160,000.   ANNE LAMBIN, Head of the Roquette Foundation, said, "This call for projects is a real human adventure: we have discovered projects from all horizons, which show the importance of combining sports or adapted activities and balanced nutrition to preserve our health. It is also an opportunity for our two foundations and companies to work together, driven by our common values.
