Today, we concluded the 2024 Focal One Clinical User Society (FOCUS) meeting, where leading urologists from around the world gathered to discuss the clinical applications and best practices of HIFU for prostate cancer. European experts in HIFU treatment with Focal One Robotic HIFU shared the latest updates on guidelines, patient selection, treatment strategies, clinical case reviews, and ongoing clinical studies. The event was an outstanding exchange of clinical experience and best practices. Special thanks to our esteemed speakers, Pr Pascal Rischmann Pr. Eduard Baco Pr. Arnauld Villers, Dr. Pierre Charles Henry and Dr. Massimo Lazzeri, for sharing their expert knowledge and experience with the group. We are extremely grateful to the FOCUS Scientific Advisory Board, Pr Andreas Blana, Pr. Sébastien CROUZET Pr. Daniel Eberli and Pr. La santé est l'affaire de tous !   Ce lundi 3 Juin, nous avons eu le plaisir de recevoir deux ambassadrices de l'Assurance Maladie afin de sensibiliser tous nos collègues sur le dépistage du cancer colorectal, du sein et du col de l'utérus. Le dépistage permet de diagnostiquer tôt certains cancers, avant l’apparition de symptômes, et de pouvoir mieux les soigner, mais aussi de limiter les séquelles liées aux traitements utilisés. Dans certains cas, le dépistage peut même permettre d’éviter l’apparition d’un cancer, grâce au repérage et au traitement d’une anomalie qui aurait pu évoluer vers un cancer. Une initiative essentielle qui permet de prendre conscience sur l'importance de cette prévention. The final results of the landmark HIFI Study were presented by Pr Pascal Rischmann in the plenary session at the Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association in San Antonio on Friday May 3, 2024.   This is the first and largest study of its kind prospectively comparing HIFU ablation with Focal One Robotic technology to Radical Prostatectomy. 3,328 Prostate Cancer patients were prospectively enrolled and treated across 46 centers. The authors concluded to non-inferiority in terms of cancer control with significantly superior functional outcomes in terms of urinary continence and erectile function for prostate cancer patients undergoing Focal One Robotic HIFU ablation compared to the ones treated with the standard of care Radical Prostatectomy.   Congratulations to all the investigators and their staff for this remarkable effort.
