Today marks two years since #TrialWatch released its report on the trial of Mexican indigenous rights defender Kenia Hernandez. Despite widespread calls for her release by IM Defensoras , FIDH - International Federation for Human Rights and CIVICUS Monitor, Kenia remains incarcerated in Mexico, nearing four years behind bars. Convicted of aggravated robbery for allegedly robbing two people during a toll booth demonstration, her trial was marred by irregularities and rights violations. Our #TrialWatch initiative, in partnership with the American Bar Association Center for Human Rights, assigned her trial a D grade. Sunday marked two years since a Russian missile attack killed 29 people and injured over 200 in the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia. Last week, Clooney Foundation for Justice, Legal Action Worldwide (LAW) and Truth Hounds filed a complaint to the UN Human Rights Committee on behalf of 18 of its victims. Two weeks ago, Clooney Foundation for Justice's Docket team supported Venezuelan victims of crimes against humanity as they testified in Argentina against alleged perpetrators.
