🎉 UPI Payment now available at Galeries Lafayette Paris! 🎉 It all started with the Indian Republic Day celebration organized by the Embassy of India in Paris this February, where the CCIFI participated. During the event, a special announcement was made about France accepting the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for Indian tourists to book Eiffel Tower tickets online, making France the first European country to embrace UPI. It was then obvious to us at CCIFI to help spread this facility in the tourism industry. And now, Galeries Lafayette Paris has also started to accept UPI payments! With an impressive 35 million annual visitors, Galeries Lafayette is not just a shopping destination but a cultural landmark, second only to the Eiffel Tower in its iconic status. We are glad to announce that for the first time in Europe, UPI, the preferred Indian payment method, is now available instore at this legendary department store, thanks to the efforts of Lyra, a proud member of our Chamber. This momentous occasion was graced by His Excellency Mr. Jawed Ashraf, Ambassador of India to France and Monaco, who made the first purchase using UPI at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. A special thanks to the collaboration with National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI), the cash register editor LUNDI MATIN Group, and the dedicated team at Lyra, led by Christophe Mariette, which made it possible for UPI to be available at all purchasing points in Galeries Lafayette Haussmann from now on! 🍾🍾 As we look forward to the opening of Galeries Lafayette in Mumbai, we invite all our Indian friends to come to Paris for the sales at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann and the Olympic Games! 🎁🥇 CCIFI Vice President Coumar ANANDA and Advisory Board Member Souad Tenfiche-Ancelle were present at this launch event. #UPI #GaleriesLafayette #Lyra #CCIFI #ParisShopping #Olympics2024 #IndiainParis Bénédicte Brouard Pierre-Marie RELECOM Amit Pathare Jean-Luc Barlet Priti A. 🎉 We had an incredible experience at the event organized by Dentons in partnership with ASA, HSBC India Desk, and chaired by CCIFI on June 11, 2024, in Paris. 🌍🤝 We delved into the fascinating topic "From Exploring to De-Risking the Indian Market." Key discussions included India's recent structural reforms, the Prime Minister's Gati Shakti Scheme (PMGSS), and critical considerations for selecting the right business entity. Additionally, we tackled vital tax issues, the complexities surrounding Permanent Establishment risks, and examined case studies presented by Dentons on recent litigations and arbitrations.
