Late October kicks off a second severe weather season in Tennessee and it's important to be prepared for severe weather over the next couple months.

Historically, the height of severe weather is March through May.

A secondary severe weather season usually happens in the fall, specifically late October and November. Although, last November saw a tornado outbreak of seven twisters in one night and left one person dead.

So far this year, Tennessee has seen 14 tornadoes and middle Tennessee has seen eight, according to the National Weather Service.
