Kävijät pääsivät tutustumaan metaversumin mahdollisuuksiin alan huippujen kanssa. Metaversumin ytimessä ovat erilaiset digitalisaation ja teknologisen kehityksen mahdollistamat keksinnöt, joilla tosimaailma ja virtuaalitodellisuus lähestyvät ja kietoutuvat toisiinsa. --- Relive the highlights of the Imagine the Metaverse event – watch the event's aftermovie! 🐸🎞️ The two-day event took place two weeks ago (June 11–12, 2024) at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Center. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the possibilities of the metaverse with industry leaders. From LA to Finland: ongoing collaboration across borders to reduce GHG Recently, a group of public and private delegates from Los Angeles visited three Finnish cities and over 40 companies on a journey to discover new innovations in smart cities, mobility, and sustainability. Just a few highlights from the trip: · Sharing insights through LA’s keynote & panel on 'Innovative Responses to 21st Century Challenges’ at the Imagine [Smart City] Conference (video overview here: https://bit.ly/3zjP9vj) · Challenging Finnish startups via the Urban Shark tank and having an LA Commissioner as one of the judges. Congrats to PayIQ! · Riding an autonomous tram at the Lyyli living lab where international R&D is focused on improving transit · Checking out innovations in street lighting, such as leveraging lights to guide citizens in emergency situations · Touring Nokia Arena to see real-time people and traffic flow in and around a venue · Discussing with the Smart City Innovation Cluster on how cities (such as Tampere) can and are leveraging data to deliver smart city services to better the lives of their citizens · Observing a traffic control center, then riding an EV bus to an EV bus depot to meet with the companies across the value chain from infra to services to operations · Meeting with Tampere, Espoo, and Helsinki to share learnings around sustainability · Exploring VTT’s Bioruukki pilot centre and their new bio-based products and circular economy solutions · Traveling underground to see wastewater treatment (sounds iffy – but actually quite cool) · Not to be forgotten, was trying out a sauna boat – because when in Finland, do as the Finns, and that means sauna! FI / EN: Imagine the Metaverse -tapahtumassa saimme kokea, miten uudet teknologiat tuovat uudenlaisia ulottuvuuksia elämyksiin. Museokeskus Vapriikki esitteli tapahtumassa muun muassa 1918-näyttelyn virtuaaliversiota, jossa sisällissodan tapahtumiin voi tutustua molempien vastapuolten näkökulmasta. Tapahtumassa saattoi myös vierailla reaaliaikaisesti Vapriikin näyttelyissä Nokian RXRM -teknologian avulla. At the Imagine the Metaverse event, we experienced how new technologies bring new dimensions to experiences. The Vapriikki Museum Centre showcased a virtual version of the 1918 exhibition, allowing visitors to explore the events of the Civil War from both sides' perspectives. The event also featured real-time visits to Vapriikki's exhibitions using Nokia's RXRM technology. Tampereen kaupunki - City of Tampere is heading a European city network that is building the metaverse for cities, known as “CitiVerse.” Alongside Tampere, Rotterdam, the Flanders region, and Istanbul are involved. The x-CITE project brings together leading European smart cities, research institutions, and companies that share a common vision for intelligent and sustainable urban transformation. Today I dedicated a day to myself and headed off to Tampere, and I am happy to report that it was such a great investment. I only regret not doing the same on Tuesday, as I missed the first part of Imagine the metaverse. My expectations were high, yet today’s presentations exceeded them. The critical examination of XR technologies and gamification, alongside exemplary industry cases, was enlightening. It underscored the magic that happens when various disciplines merge together. I enjoyed every minute of this event, but I must give special mention to Eve Weston’s ‘Taxonomy of Experience’ presentation, which made my little experience designer’s heart vibrate. It was a joy to see storytelling so effectively elucidate a complex framework, turning it into a remarkable learning experience. I will keep this slide close, hoping one day I can put it into practice. I have only words of praise for the Tampereen kaupunki - City of Tampere for organizing this extraordinary meeting point and making it accessible to everybody. That is a wrap at Imagine the metaverse, the exciting conference in Tampere, Finland on use cases for metaverse applications in cities. As the #EU forges ahead with data/AI legislation and data spaces across application verticals, a vexing question looms: How will the digital infrastructure required for the infraverse be financed and by whom? Our U-M CEE Center for Digital Asset Finance collaboration with Juri Mattila and colleagues at VTT seeks to answer this question as part of the #DataMUST program. #digitalassets #dataspaces #smartinfrastructure #digitalfinance

Imagine the metaverse tapahtumassa rakennettiin tilannekuvaa uudistuvasta teollisuudesta. Sain kunnian fasilitoida keskustelun ja kiteyttää viestit: 1. Suomi tarvitsee teknologiapolitiikkaa, 2. Suomen suhteellinen kilpailuetu tekee meistä kokoamme suuremman, 3. Investoinnit tarvitsevat vakautta ja näkymää, 4. Suomalaisten yritysten nälkää ja halua kasvaa on ruokittava 5.
