SensorFleet Cyber Capability Fabric
Network Traffic Analysis (NTA) Tools
SensorFleet solution is a lightweight and distributed cyber capability fabric that consists of Fleet Management, Sensor Platform and Instruments. ✅ Instruments are components dedicated for specific cybersecurity monitoring tasks, such as exposure monitoring, attack detection and forensic data collection. ✅ Sensor Platform provides a secure execution environment for the Instruments. It runs on common virtualization platforms, hardware, and cloud. With the modular Instruments, you can equip Sensors with just the right set of capabilities. ✅ Fleet Management controls a fleet of Sensors and provides one-click deployment of the Instruments. With Fleet Management, you can see your security coverage at a glance and forward any alerts to SIEM of your choice.

Happy holidays and big thanks for 2023 to all our customers, partners, associates and the friends of SensorFleet! Our last cybersecurity advisory for 2023: Minimise your attack surface by keeping laptops, email etc. closed as much as possible and focus on relaxing and spending time with family and friends. As a special tip for us in northern latitudes, this will be a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with a little bit of daylight. On picture, a sunny moment at midday on Boxing day a year ago 😁

Mikko Kenttälä is raising important points about the critical infrastructure security. Thanks for the shout-out on SensorFleet when it comes to scalable network visibility! As mentioned on referred report, network segmentation is one of the cornerstones for securing CI networks. SensorFu has an excellent solution for verifying segmentation and their Beacon product also runs as an Instrument on SensorFleet platform. Report from SektorCERT is well worth reading for anyone involved with critical infrastructure security: https://lnkd.in/daMSVs3A
Greetings from the ISC-CPH event in sunny Copenhagen! On a serious note, the report by SektorCERT on how Danish critical infrastructure was targeted before the summer is a hot topic in the event. Regardless of the attackers’ motives, the fact that they got into critical infra on such a scale had too much potential for real harm. However, on a positive note, our society was not unprepared and a lot of good things happened in response. Here are a couple of comments on the aspects I am more familiar with due to my background. - Fall back of the facilities and sites to Island Mode worked without major damage. This is a positive signal that regardless of all the external dependencies we have, we are still able to operate in isolation and “by hand” and it doesn’t have to be the desperate last ditch effort. Of course, this puts more emphasis on people but that is not always a bad thing from a resilience point of view. :) - One of the main recommendations the SektorCERT makes after the result of their analysis is segmentation. This is close to my heart and something I strongly believe in. For years now, I have been working towards and promoting network segmentation and segregation and continuously testing it as a major cornerstone of critical infrastructure cyber security. - “Visibility across” was a major driver in detecting and responding to these attacks. SektorCERT has done an impressive job here with hundreds of companies protected by their sensors. I can also dearly recommend a company I have been closely following, SensorFleet , they have engineered and productized similar large scale sensor networks that are necessary to gain visibility over complex multiplayer critical infrastructure sectors and their network exposure. There are also some very intriguing aspects in these attacks, I hope that further analysis will shed some light into them. “To this day, there is no clear explanation of how the attackers had the necessary information, but we can state that among the 300 members, they did not miss a single shot.” Check the full report from: https://lnkd.in/duVevbez

Network packet processing is an essential component for a network security solution. How to do it securely (as source is by default untrusted) and with the high performance? SensorFleet co-founder and network protocol specialist Jukka Taimisto will show how to do the trick with #rustlang in upcoming RustLab Conference in Florence. #rustlab
I’ll be giving a talk at RustLab conference at November about building network packet analysis tool with Rust language (https://lnkd.in/dYv9UTMm). The talk is inspired by the development work we did for SensorFleet AssetGuard Instrument which is designed to give you a non-intrusive way to monitor and detect devices communicating on your network.
