Disobey, day 2 recap as the event is winding down. And what a wonderful event it was. 1836 participants, over 100 volunteer, and so much wonderful program - the sheer amount of learning and innovation produced by the event will unfold and spread to new people in the upcoming months. Today's highlights included Jason Lang's awe-inspiring keynote on red team lessons and technical details from recent breaches. The Community Village stayed as vibrant as ever, and prizes were given to the awesome winners of the Disobey CtF (team " ", name a non-breaking whitespace). The Badge Puzzle remained unsolved, but a consolation prize was given to the team who got closest (again, *sigh*, team " " whose name makes our comms team sob with frustration). A non-profit event such as this could not succeed without the volunteer work of dedicated people, without our passion-driven community, and without all of you who participated. And our awesome sponsors, whose contribution allows us to keep ticket prices reasonable. Thank you all from the bottoms of our hearts. And as we said yesterday, this year's event proved that maybe the real cybersecurity is indeed the friends we made along the way. Disobey 2024 Comms out ❤️ (Picture of Benjamin Särkkä going through random facts during the end ceremony.) #disobey2024

Disobeying the norms at #Disobey2024 – Day 1 highlights: In the bustling and highly energetic Community Village, mentoring programme provided a new focal point along with classics like the lockpicking workshops - and a tonne of other Community program. For our fabulous spoken programme, a special mention must be given to Nina Nissilä's fascinating deep dive on the criticality of data security for Kela as it manages personal information for most Finns. In competitions, CTF's meteoric rise in popularity over the years is a testament to the evolving cybersecurity landscape. There are no words on how wonderful the hacker community is. At the end of the day (one of Disobey), we can say that the real cybersecurity is the friends we found along the way.

2 days to Disobey! During the event, we won't bombard all social media with all info. To get the most out of the event, find our posts and schedule info and changes on Instagram and Twitter / X. An easy way to get our schedule in mobile-friendly form is Hackertracker (iOS & Android app).
