Jeff Zimmerman: A note. Over the next two weeks, this chat might move times or not happen. I will try to let everyone know. Next week I have a friend coming through on a cross country trip and I’m not sure when he’ll be here.

Jeff Zimmerman: The next week, I have a wedding to go to. There is a good chance the chat doesn’t happen that Sunday as a drive back.

Kelly: Scherzer available in my 15 team NFBC. Max bid approved?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s time to implement some game theory and see who you can out bid and other outbid you. Same will happen with Wood next week.

Bill: Would you use Wesneski vs PHI and LAA this week?

Jeff Zimmerman: If I have him, probably. It always comes down to other options.

Chet Lime: Do you see Johan Rojas getting full time AB’s for the next few weeks?  Desperate for steals and I’m down to Rojas or Gelof.

Jeff Zimmerman: You have one week and then the short week. Not sure after that

Kenny: Do you believe in Kiner-Falefa breakout?  Drop Schneider for him?

Jeff Zimmerman: IKF has raised his launch angle and just hitting line drive. Roster IKF just based on the playing time difference

Joey: Wesneski Ceconni Birdsong Weathers. Any worth rostering ROS in 15 teamer?

Jeff Zimmerman: Wesneski and Ceconni, yes. Weather yes when healthy. I don’t think so with Birdsong

The Batman: I’m in a quandary. I’m in a 12 team 5×5 and I’m doing very well in pitching across the board but my hitting is a nightmare outside of runs and SBs. I have a little under 40% of my FAAB left. And yet, Max Scherzer is available. Do you bid heavy on him any anyways, or do you hold knowing you’re going to need that money elsewhere?

Jeff Zimmerman: Is Wood available next week? Wait on him for sure. I’d hold off going all in for Scherzer and use the money to stream hitting

Steve: Drop Polanco for Massey or Rodgers?  Redraft, season long.

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes this week with KC in COL.

kuff6: Mercado now officially named for PHi and getting a 2 step vs CHC and ATL. Does that move him up your list at all from this morning?

Jeff Zimmerman: No, I’m not sold he’s a good pitcher. It could be a nice week to bench and monitor. You’ll have two starts to evaluate him next week.

Seanold: 15 team NFBC roto league, Noelvi is available. What do you think he’ll go for?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’ll depend on the FAAB left. People should and will use the hammer. Bids could be as high as $500+

Chet Lime: Do you trust Carraso (home v. Chisox, Giants) or Hayden W (home v. Phils, Angels) in the double dip next week?

Jeff Zimmerman: Wes over Carrasco. I usually lean talent over schedule

Ed M.: OK, what are we expecting from James Wood ROS? Worth using 30% of my remaining FAAB on him? I could use the offense…

Jeff Zimmerman: Again, I think hammers will be dropped for Wood.

Jeff Zimmerman: What I mean by hammer is that say the person with the most FAAB has $500 and the next person has $400. The person with $500 will spend $401 and be guaranteed to have Wood.

Troy: Should I drop Burleson in order to add and stream B Rodgers this week?

Jeff Zimmerman: I would not

Bob: prefer MJ Melendez or Luis Campusano as backup C rest of season? Points league. Thank you!

Jeff Zimmerman: Neither … MJ but I don’t like it.

Troy: Concern level for L Gil after his last two shaky starts?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t have him but I didn’t know he was that bad. I have him as a 6.00 ERA talent over the past three weeks.

Jake Sliders: Worth holding Jackson Holliday still? My team is doing well, so holding him is a luxury at this point. The other options are a bunch of the guys in your waiver wire piece.

Jeff Zimmerman: Where is he going to play?

Eddie: Drop Bleday for Noel or Kjerstad or hold tight? Bleday has been an adequate bench bat for me but upside is tempting.

Jeff Zimmerman: I might make the move to go for upside

Chief Noc a Homa: Is Kikuchi done? Need a roster spot and he’s the weakest. 12-team QS league.

Jeff Zimmerman: Far from looking at my projections. I’d hold

BLC: What do you make of Schwellenbach? His Stuff+ / Location+ are around average, and he has a SIERA under 4.00? Team streamer or waiver wire fodder in 12 team leagues?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s likely a hold in most formats, even 12’s

Marte: drop the hammer in a 12tm for Marte too?

Jeff Zimmerman: Someone will. Marte’s bid might be tempered since it’s just one position. In a couple leagues, I don’t have room for him

Counterpoint: Re: Spiers — isn’t a low strikeout pitcher with a summer full of games in Cincy playing with fire?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d prefer a low walk guy so the home runs are solo shots. He’s not ideal but one of the few decent available options.

JT: i am in 1st place, but may be over valuing Steer, mostly because of positional flexibility, am being offered L. Robert Jr or Langford foe him, is that a good deal

Michael: Would you drop N.Marte or J Ortiz for Vientos?

Jeff Zimmerman: I could see it.

A.: Keep Rice or drop for E Diaz? 12 team, obp

Maris9: What to think about Helios Ramos rest of season? Paid a bit too much I’m afraid.

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t see any reason to sell

nfbc12s: 12 team james wood was drafted so hes available. does he go for 200?

Jeff Zimmerman: In a few leagues, I’d go full hammer. $200 might be the 4th place bid

HappyFunBall: My first half pitching has been horrific. Lost Strider and it’s been a challenge cobbling together what I think should be a good enough staff for the second. Will Gallen, Houck, King, Steele, Bradley, Olson, and J. Irvin get it done in a 12xMixed?

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe. I’d just keep trying to add to the bench to stream as much as possible

For Scherz: you go triple digits for Scherzer in an OC?   Or save those big bids for Ray, Springs, etc?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’ll take triple digits for Scherzer and I’d just go ahead and get the arm to use

Big Spender: How do manage a roster with no FAAB (can do 0 bids). Hold struggling guys with upside bc I won’t get them back if they get hot? I should make the playoffs so I can hold and hope they get hot in Sep.

Jeff Zimmerman: The team holds players more and will need huge bid lists to make sure to get a player you want.

Alex: Garrett Mitchell back tomorrow, anything there in a 12 teamer?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not sure how much he’ll play

Jeff Zimmerman: I’ve added to the bottom of lists but not a priority

Guarding the Native: How much are you bidding on J Noel if you have 300 FAAB left, in first and 1st in HR and RBI? 15 team nfbc

Good Wood?: After rookie hitters have struggled so hard this year, should we be controlling ourselves a little bit on James Wood?

Jeff Zimmerman: I expect there is a chance he fails but for teams who need an offensive boost. Wood is their best chance to turn around their season.

I see you like old man Carlos Santana this week, but my H2H league still has a few other good bats available and I’m just looking for a hitter, so I was wondering how would you rank Vientos, Burleson, Josh Smith and C Santana?

Mike: Is Brooks Lee worth a stash now.  Seems like he should hit for average with some power, but maybe not enough to move the needle.

Caminero Canyonero: Is Caminero worth holding on in a no NA spot OBP 12 Team 4-Keeper league?  If not, who should I replace him?  3B position is trash this year.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think those with the most cash will hold while the other might get good deals with everyone else waiting
