Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Netherlands

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Netherlands. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
  1. Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  2. You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Netherlands|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
Removing a closed AfD discussion
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Netherlands. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
Further information
For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Europe.

  • Keep organization is a key player in the financial industry, offering extensive credit risk data that is crucial for financial institutions and researchers. Its contributions and collaborations with major banks around the world underline its significance and notability. --Loewstisch (talk) 10:44, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NOTGALLERY, WP:ORP, WP:UNSOURCED, WP:NOTNOTABLE and fork of List of municipal flags of the Netherlands. Alexphangia Talk 17:13, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • those comprising one main city, town or village with the same name as the municipality, and possibly some additional villages; for example
  • those comprising several villages, none with the name of the municipality; in that case the name of the municipality may not be as well-known outside it as the villages; for example:
  • those with a double name, comprising (mainly) the two towns or villages in the name, for example:
  • those comprising a main town and additional villages, yet the municipality is not named after this town; for example:

Recent politics have led to a great number of mergers between smaller municipalities or with cities. Unlike municipal flags, village flags are not registered in the flag register by the High Council of Nobility. This means that village flags do not have official status. Village flags, like village arms, are used only out of tradition. Granting is (usually) done by the municipality, which decides on it at a council meeting. Thank you for elaborating on this point! gidonb (talk) 19:47, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't want to see this gone as I have found it a very useful site but I can't see how this passes WP:NWEB/WP:GNG. The references currently in the article are all primary/unreliable, and my WP:BEFORE didn't turn up anything (however the genericness of the name makes it difficult) The mentions that do turn up in academic papers and books are simple references/attributions, which in no way pass the WP:SIGCOV bar.
