Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Deaths in May 2011, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Marianna Nagy. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Precision in article names

[edit]

I've reverted your recent page move of Pam Brown (Nebraska politician) to "Pam Brown (politician)" (see diff). Your edit summary was "There is no other Pam(ela) Browns in politics."

I have no idea how you arrived at this conclusion, since a quick Google search turned up a Pamela Brown in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, a Pam Brown who ran for the Wyoming state legislature in 2014, and a Pam Brown who ran for the Florida legislature in 2012; see Talk:Pam Brown (Nebraska politician) for links.

Even if there weren't any other Pam(ela) Browns currently in politics, we have to consider that the name is not at all unusual, and it's not at all inconceivable that another Pam Brown in another state or English-speaking country could take up politics. It's better to anticipate possible ambiguities now than to have to change a hatful of links at some time in the future. — Ammodramus (talk) 03:06, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Forrest Hardacre, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo, or other unlikely search term.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Vernon Smith may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Hello, I'm Linguist111. Thank you for your contributions to Asia's Next Top Model (cycle 3). I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit(s) because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! Linguisttalk|contribs 12:29, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Linguist111:, please explain, why the article is better without the photo. Taivorist (talk) 12:39, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion, photos of individual contestants are not necessary in cycles' articles, especially if they did not win the competition. You may wish to add it to List of Asia's Next Top Model contestants instead, as List of America's Next Top Model contestants has photos of individual contestants. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Carolyn Leach requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Mccapra (talk) 05:17, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Taivorist. I without reservation agree that I did not explain it well, but I believe the deletion was required. To be honest, I feel uncomfortable discussing this and and linking the relevant policies - except that WP:BLP is obviously applicable here - in a publicly viewable space. Could I possibly email you about this, or you email me? (Please do note I am having some problems with my Gmail accounts at present). Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 09:36, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No need to email! (Of course, you can email to me, if you like!) I understood myself, what happened. Somebody created an article over my redirect and the new article was not about Carolyn Huntoon, but about totally unrelated human. The article was deleted due to non-notability or due to some other reason. I will recreate the redirect. The redirect does not have any private data, because her maiden name exists in the article, even in infobox. Case closed. Thank you for understanding. Taivorist (talk) 14:03, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, the introduction of inappropriate pages, such as Elizabeth Ambatukam Eleanor Siddall, is considered vandalism and is prohibited. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion.

162.83.141.156 (talk) 00:35, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not accuse me in vandalism! The article was even on main page in "Did you know?" section. If the Ambatukam is incorrect, then you can delete the redirect, but it's not my fault. I do not knopw, is the redirect correct or not. Taivorist (talk) 09:28, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect Elizabeth Ambatukam Siddall has been listed at redirects for discussion to determine whether its use and function meets the redirect guidelines. Anyone, including you, is welcome to comment on this redirect at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2023 July 31 § Elizabeth Ambatukam Siddall until a consensus is reached. Liz Read! Speedy deletion declined: Terence Venable

Hello Taivorist, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Terence Venable, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion.
