What is the phobia for fear of sledding?

How can backcountry sledding with its remote destinations and specialized equipment be less expensive than walking to the local slope and sledding on a cafeteria tray? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.198.6.253 (talk) 21:04, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what kind of English this is written in. Google Translate? Appalachian ? Its verbosity is somewhat reminiscent of the antiquated circumlocution redolent of the oriental fastnesses of the Victorian British Empire ! Kind of fun, maybe impressive for an "English Major" (either student or military) but questionable for an encyclopedia with an international audience.

  • with an interested assist from the worthy craftsmen
  • far into the distant murky past
  • easier to motivate
  • It is also brings your family together.
  • recreation at the dawn of winter resorting in winter climes
  • These sleds were created after citizens of St. Moritz would bargain over lumber to create sleds.)
  • privileged leisure set
  • the prosaic substitute to the nascent competitive sports aborning among the beautiful people
  • gladed powder-filled steeps

Maybe I'm missing a literary homage here - is it copied from Ethan Frome ? Just seems a little odd to me.
