Splitting Wollastonia from Melanthera

[edit]

Hi to anyone reading! I'm suggesting a split as said above. While I was updating the Melanthera biflora article, I found out that not only is that binomial name redirected to Wollastonia biflora (according to Plants Of The World Online and World Flora Online) and therefore no longer in the Melanthera list (POWO, WFO), but that Wollastonia is already updated as its own separate genus (POWO, WFO).

Those two sources have the final say on plant genera. So, I think we need to check which present species has a new binomial name and sort from the Melanthera genus into a separate Wollastonia article (if the two genera mentioned have some overlap like Melanthera biflora) or any other genus that lists them in those new, updated names. I'm afraid I'm not capable of doing this alone, so I'm putting this out there to ask anyone reading to help along. -- Mat Kiyan (talk) 15:28, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
