Undefined footnote problems

[edit]

I have repeatedly removed an addition to this article that causes an error. The error is due to the use of a footnote that is not defined. This markup was added to the article: {{efn|name=key}}

Since a footnote named "key" is nowhere defined in the article, the article renders with this error, in bold red letters: Cite error: The named reference key was invoked but never defined (see the help page).

Apparently, there's meant to be some code in the "Sample" column which tells us something about each sample. We'd need the "key" to the table, offered in a footnote, to discern what those indications mean. In this article, we see "177 (LV)" in the "sample size" column. But we don't know what "(LV)" means, since the key isn't present.

Maybe the "LV" indicator can be removed without the article losing meaning. Or, maybe the text added to the article is not useful in the first place. Ideally though, the footntoe key text can be added to the article so everything fits together; and the casing group of the footnote fixed to match the other footnotes in the article. But the article should not again be edited to deliberately add an undefined reference or footnote, since that's disruptive. -- Mikeblas (talk)
