Sex-Dependent Expression of Caveolin 1 in Response to Sex Steroid Hormones Is Closely Associated with Development of Obesity in Rats

Sex-dimorphic differential expression of estrogen receptors (ERα and ERβ), androgen receptor (AR), and aromatase (CYP19) in different adipose tissue depots.

Band densities were normalized using β-actin in each tissue to calculate relative intensity (%). Statistical significance between control and hormone treated groups were calculated by Student’s t-test, where, *p<0.05 and **p<0.01. The significance of the effects of sex, diet and hormonal treatments was tested using multivariate ANOVA (M-ANOVA), where p<0.05.
