Sex-Dependent Expression of Caveolin 1 in Response to Sex Steroid Hormones Is Closely Associated with Development of Obesity in Rats

CAV1 was differentially expressed in tissues upon treatments with high fat diet and sex steroid hormones (E2 and DHT) in a sex-dependent manner.
Band densities were normalized using β-actin in each tissue to calculate relative intensity (%). Statistical significance between control and hormone treated groups were calculated by Student’s t-test, where, *p<0.05 and **p<0.01. The significance of the effects of sex, diet and hormonal treatments was tested using multivariate ANOVA (M-ANOVA), where p<0.05.
