🌈 Pride month reflections: Recognising our internal advocates and allies 🌈 As we come to the end of Pride Month, we want to take a moment to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible efforts of our colleagues who have made this month a memorable and impactful one at Too Good To Go. 💚 Our Pride Month activities have been nothing short of inspiring. A special thank you to our P.R.I.D.E. Employee Resource Group and our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Taskforce for putting together such meaningful events. 🏳️🌈 Internal Pride Panel: We had the privilege of hearing from some of our very own team members who courageously shared their personal stories about identity, belonging, and their experiences both within and outside of Too Good To Go. 🏳️⚧️ We were also honoured to welcome Hannah and Jake Graf MBE, who led an insightful session on the trans experience. They shared their stories, and provided us with practical ways to cultivate a more inclusive workplace. 🌍 Across our global offices, local Pride initiatives have been in full swing, celebrating diversity and inclusion in unique and impactful ways. In Italy, the team learned about other employee experiences in starting her family with her partner, and the barriers many LGBTQIA+ families face in doing so. In Poland and the Netherlands, team members attended local celebrations including Pride marches and a drag queen bingo event! 🎊 And around the globe, lots of great decorations and celebrations have been happening to show team pride in local offices, including amazing merchandise such as stickers and hats designed by our wonderful Creative team. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this Pride Month special! 🌟 Let’s continue to support each other, celebrate diversity, and work together to make a difference. 🏳️🌈💪 #Pride #BCorp #TechForGood #Hiring

At Too Good To Go, we're committed to making a real difference in the world. That’s why it's a great feeling when our efforts are recognised, like with our second recertification as a B Corp. 🚀🙌 So what exactly does it mean? Being a certified B Corp is to be a company committed to meeting the highest social and environmental performance standards, accountability, and transparency. As part of this global community (which spans over 6,000 companies, across 80 countries and 153 industries) we uphold values that truly matter. Achieving this milestone wouldn't have been possible without the strength and passion of our global community of over 95 million registered users, 160,000 active partners and 1,200 employees across our 18 countries and counting! 🙏 But being a B Corp isn’t a reason to rest on our laurels. Did you know that over 40% of all food produced goes to waste? This is as much as 2.5 billion tonnes each year (WWF, 2021). We still have a long way to go: In the countries we are active, as well as the wider value chain where food is wasted. Together, we have the power to make a meaningful difference in the world. Here's to a cleaner, greener future filled with impact! 🌍✨ #BCorp #TechForGood #Sustainability

🌎 We’re adding another destination to our ‘Look-Smell-Taste’ date labelling initiative world tour – Hello, Canada! 👋🇨🇦 Did you know 40% of Canadians admit to throwing out food past the Best-Before dates at least once a week (Léger, 2023)? Best-Before dates are about optimal quality. Meaning if stored correctly, products with Best-Before labels can be good even past their date! Which is exactly why we’re so excited to bring the Too Good To Go ‘Look-Smell-Taste’ date label to Canada! We’ve teamed up with some of the country's favourite brands like Bel, Dr. Oetker and Greenhouse to encourage everyone to trust their senses and reduce food waste. Keep your eyes (nose and mouth) peeled for the Too Good To Go label on your favourite products and ‘Look-Smell-Taste before you waste’ to make a positive impact on the planet! Trust your senses. Reduce food waste. Help the environment. For more information, visit https://lnkd.in/dArjvREw #LookSmellTaste #Sustainability #ClimateAction

ADOPTED EU FOOD WASTE REDUCTION TARGETS ARE JUST NOT ENOUGH! 🎯 What happened? Today, EU Environment Ministers adopted their position on legislation seeking to introduce legally-binding food waste reduction targets in the EU, which will require a 10% food waste reduction in manufacturing and processing, and a 30% reduction in retail, food services, and households. 📆 What does it mean? All EU countries would be required to meet these targets by 2030! Introducing legally-binding reduction targets marks a crucial step in the fight against food waste. However, the target levels adopted by EU Environment Ministers today fall largely short of the EU commitment to UN SDG 12.3, which aims to halve annual food waste by 2030. 🧐 So are more ambitious targets actually feasible? Not only feasible, but absolutely necessary! At Too Good To Go, we believe we can—and should—aim higher. In a recent policy briefing from the Prevent Waste Coalition, Too Good To Go provides evidence that more ambitious food waste reduction targets are both feasible and will result in significant cost savings. Too Good To Go calls on EU negotiators to adopt more ambitious legally-binding food waste reduction targets in their final trilogue negotiations on the Waste Framework Directive later this year. 🌎 The food waste crisis is too urgent, too serious and too massive not to legislate against it with speed and ambition. 🌎 When it comes to saving food from going to waste, size matters! Recognising the impact of Too Good To Go’s Community on this World Environment Day! 🌎 This #WorldEnvironmentDay, we’re celebrating the impact made by our 95 million registered users and 160,000 partners. 🌾 Each meal saved via the Too Good To Go marketplace app avoids the unnecessary use of 2.8m2 of land per year*. Together, the 330 million meals our global community has already saved from going to waste equals avoiding the unnecessary use of 924 million m2 of land per year. That sounds like a lot… 🤔 And it is! 💥 To put that into perspective, it’s 16 times the size of Manhattan 🗽(59.1 km²) or more than 130,000 football fields (UEFA regulation size: 7,140 m²). Understanding the enormous benefits of reducing food waste, brings to light the immense opportunity we all have - each and every one of us - to help tackle climate change, better use our planet's invaluable resources, and simply appreciate our food more. 🍉🥑 Discover more about the connection between reducing food waste and the positive impact on climate change on tgtg.to/claims *According to new eye-opening calculations developed by Merieux Nutrisciences | Blonk, and validated by researchers from University of Oxford and WRAP. #WorldEnvironmentDay #ClimateAction #Sustainability

#ShopTalk Europe 2024 recap: here’s what happened 🧐 For us, it was a privilege to have our Chief Operating Officer, Simon Leesley, taking part in the fireside chat: “Using Data and Technology to Unlock Sustainability Goals.” Main takeaways of his chat with Siobhán Géhin from Roland Berger: 💡 Food waste challenge: Fighting food waste presents a tremendous opportunity for the food industry. Globally, 40% of food produced is wasted, equating to 2.5 billion tonnes each year—costing society $1.1 trillion annually (WWF, 2024). 📊 Technology and data are critical: Accurate tracking and measurement of our efforts better manage businesses and to fight food waste is crucial to creating better solutions. For grocers, leveraging technology like Too Good To Go Platform can enhance capabilities and information to prevent food waste. ⚡ Timely action: When dealing with food that is about to expire, the window of opportunity is short (measured in days, and even hours!). Instead of manually checking 100% of expiry dates, now thanks to our Too Good To Go Platform, store employees are using our AI-driven solution to check less than 7% of products, saving hours and ensuring timely discounting or redistribution of food. 🚀 Using AI for good: The developments in this field hold great promise. We’re already delivering a positive impact with our partners that are using Too Good To Go Platform. And we anticipate a lot of improvements that will equip grocers of all sizes with tools to manage their surplus more efficiently (enter: Too Good To Go Platform). Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this insightful discussion! Let's continue working together towards a sustainable future. #ShopTalk #Sustainability #FoodWaste #AI
